Web analytics and conversion tracking
I build web analytics and conversion tracking systems where the numbers can be explained. That means consistent event design, a dependable dispatch layer, server-side handling where it matters, and validation against real orders or enquiries rather than an assumption that a tag fired.
Who it’s for
- WooCommerce and ecommerce businesses whose analytics do not match their orders
- Marketing teams that need trustworthy conversion data for Google Ads or Meta
- Agencies inheriting a GTM container nobody wants to touch
- Businesses preparing for consent, browser restrictions or server-side measurement
Problems this solves
- →GA4 revenue and WooCommerce order totals disagree, and nobody can explain the gap.
- →Purchase events are missing, duplicated or attributed to the wrong transaction.
- →The GTM container has accumulated tags and triggers with no documented event schema.
- →Advertising platforms receive conversions that cannot be reconciled with real orders.
- →Consent state, ad blockers or checkout redirects silently break measurement.
01Deliverables
What the work includes.
The exact scope is agreed after the first conversation. These are the building blocks this service usually covers.
Measurement plan and event schema
A documented set of events, parameters and naming rules, agreed before implementation so every page, store and platform uses the same language.
GA4 and Google Tag Manager
Container structure, ecommerce data layer, triggers and GA4 configuration designed for reliable reporting rather than a pile of tags.
Google Ads and Meta conversion tracking
Conversion actions, Meta Pixel and Conversions API setup where appropriate, with matching, deduplication and consent handling considered together.
Server-side tracking
Server-side event processing for conversions that must not depend on the browser, including a clear boundary between browser and server responsibilities.
Attribution and UTM conventions
A consistent campaign tagging approach and reporting structure so acquisition data can be compared across channels.
Validation and troubleshooting
Test purchases, transaction ID checks, revenue and currency validation, duplicate checks and cross-platform reconciliation.
02Approach
How the work gets done.
- 01
Understand the system
We start with the business goal, the current stack and the constraints. I need to know what is actually breaking before proposing a build.
- 02
Design the architecture
Scope, data model, integrations and success criteria are defined before implementation, so the work has a clear shape and a testable definition of done.
- 03
Build in visible milestones
Work is delivered in reviewable stages on a staging environment, with decisions documented as they are made rather than after the fact.
- 04
Verify and hand over
Testing, measurement validation, documentation and a walkthrough. The goal is a system the next person can operate and maintain.
03Evidence

04FAQ
Questions clients ask.
Why do GA4 and WooCommerce report different revenue numbers?
They can differ because of attribution windows, time zones, refund handling, consent, blocked requests, duplicate events and processing delays. The first step is to define which system is the source of truth for orders, then reconcile the event layer against it.
Do you implement server-side Google Tag Manager?
Yes, where the project justifies it. Server-side tracking is useful for conversions that must not depend on the browser, but it still needs correct event design, consent handling and validation.
Can you fix duplicate purchase events?
Yes. Deduplication starts with a stable transaction ID and a clear rule for which system is allowed to send which event. I verify the fix with test purchases and cross-platform checks.
Do you set up Meta Conversions API and Google Ads conversions?
Yes, when those channels are part of the measurement plan. Browser and server events need to be designed together so matching, deduplication and consent are handled consistently.
How do you validate that tracking is working?
Never by assuming a tag fired. I test product views, add to cart, checkout and purchase flows, verify transaction IDs, revenue and currency, check browser and server events, and compare the resulting data with real orders.

A short description of the problem is enough to start. I reply to real enquiries myself, usually within one to two business days.
